Fabulous service and lunch Never feel rushed can have 2 hour lunch. We also ordered the filet, shrimp cocktail, tuna tar tar..Several martinis that were delicious. Unfortunately they don't make espresso martinis. But they should!!!
I loved dining at Houston's restaurant in Kansas City, until it closed a few years ago. So. when I'm in city like Orlando which has a Hillstone restaurant (parent firm of Houston's), I must stop by for a meal. These restaurants share similar characteristics: superb service, incredible food quality and beautiful décors. The Orlando location is adjacent to Lake Killarney, a great spot to hang out with a glass of wine before or after your meal. After a Belvedere martini with blue cheese olives, it was time to order. One of my all-time favs at Houston's was their Grilled Artichokes. Lucky for us, they are still available on the menu. Three of us split one and it was a great starter. The menu also includes the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, another favorite at Houston's. As someone who loves Ahi Tuna, I was so happy to learn there was a Ahi special on the menu tonight. Six yummy, perfectly prepared slices of Ahi heaven. Since I have a larger appetite than this serving, I also ordered a side of broccoli and fries. This meal allowed me to relive again the wonderful memories we had at Houston's. Can't wait to return.
A very difficult place to get into, so reserve early. Food and service was excellent and compared with similar food in Naples, Fl where we live, perhaps 25% cheaper! Highly recommend the steak and the ribs meals, both are excellent! If you go, schedule around sunset, get arrive early, grab a cocktail and wander their waterfront property, it's one of the most beautiful properties in Florida.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - their Hawaiian Ribeye always hits the spot! Full of flavor, savory and slightly sweet... it's just perfection. This time I tried their side Kale Salad and it was delicious! If they had it in an entree size - I would totally order it. And as always - you can't beat the sunset views over Lake Killarney. It's always nice to take a stroll through their garden to the dock to really take it all in.
The lake view at sunset here is great! However, the excellent service and food cooked to perfection outshines it. I would highly recommend this spot for a date or an anniversary. Don't sleep on the burger, ribs, and the artichoke!
We just had an excellent meal here. It was our first time. The view is amazing and all the food was great. For the things that could be improved: They brought us a refill of our tea just before we were leaving so we asked to put it in a to-go cup. They said they don't have any. We ordered a virgin mojito. It was great, but they tried charging us for a regular one at $16. When I complained, the knocked it down to $12. Also, keep the dress code in mind. I'm not sure if dinner is different, but for lunch, shorts and T-shirts are ok, but no sleeveless shirts, and hats aren't allowed to be worn. There wasn't any outdoor seating, which is a shame, but an employee told us they used to have it, and they are remodeling and may bring it back.
10/10 for Hillstone! This is my home away from home. Truthfully Hillstone and Bulla Gastrobar battle for my love and attention on Sunday mornings. A friend of mine and I have a standing order for almost every Sunday brunch at Hillstone. We always sit at the bar, and we always get the same thing. Hillstone is a hidden gem on wide open display. Not only is it a beautifully designed upscale dining establishment with a comfortable feel, it also sits on a beautiful lake with outdoor seating on request. Hillstone never misses, and if you can tell from my reviews I frequent restaurants that do not disappoint me. My go-to orders are the smoked salmon, the grilled chicken salad, and the Hawaiian (pro-tip get it Pittsburg style and order the braised red cabbage and emerald kale salad). You will NOT be disappointed. Every time I visit I receive top notch service and top notch food. If you're there on a Sunday, there is a good chance I'm at the bar :)
We stopped here for after dinner drinks with friends and cannot wait to come back! There are lots of tucked-away spots outside to enjoy bites or cocktails, one of which being the dock out on the lake, complete with twinkle lights. Multiple waiters ventured out in case we needed anything, so you aren't totally removed from service if you choose that spot. I'm withholding 1 star only because I can't comment on their food beyond the Brussels sprouts my friend ordered that weren't very appetizing. They were boiled, I think, with what was aiming for aioli but tasted more like Mayo. I'd definitely love to come back to sample more of the menu.
